Public BBQ

An outstanding all-abilities playground, fully fenced and gated so children cannot wander, with pram access throughout and a genuinely wide spread of equipment: swings, see-saw, sand play, a trampoline, climbing nets, slides, a playhouse and two flying foxes, one scaled for younger children. There is room to bring scooters or skates, and the space is big enough that adults tend to join in. Several built-in barbecues sit under covered seating, with drinking taps well placed, bins provided, toilets close by and kept clean, and a large car park including accessible bays. Dogs are welcome on lead. It gets busy on sunny weekends and at party time. Two small gripes: it could do with more swings, and the main flying fox hangs low enough that taller riders scrape the ground.

Generally No! The BBQs are first come, first serve. However, if you plan on having a larger event then please check with Moorabool council.

Aussie public BBQs are simple to use. Majority of sites listed on this website are gas or electric BBQs. Simply press the button and it will turn on for a set amount of time (10-20 minutes).

We do also list wood fired BBQs on this site, so check the above descriptions and photos to be prepared.

If you are convinced that the BBQ has issues, then contact Moorabool council and let them know it's faulty.

You should first check with Moorabool council about the rules and restrictions.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
